I started with Scott-Moncrieff as a CA student working in commercial audit. After qualifying I chose to specialise in corporate finance and advisory work. I am now the Director of the firm’s Corporate Finance team and have over 15 years’ experience in this area.

The majority of my work is in transaction services, although I am also heavily involved in fundraising, business valuations and preparing due diligence reports and IBRs. My typical client is an owner managed business or SME in Scotland looking to expand, through organic growth or acquisition, or seeking to realise their investment through a trade disposal.

I have recently been the lead adviser on a number of projects, including several acquisitions which included comprehensive financial due diligence and input on deal structure, price and funding, as well as post-acquisition advice. I have also undertaken large financial due diligence assignments on behalf of a public sector investor and conducted options appraisals on behalf of a client seeking to enhance its estates portfolio and a local authority seeking the most viable exit strategy from a joint venture investment. In addition I have prepared business plans and complex financial and investment models for a range of clients seeking to raise external finance and I have recently undertaken reporting accountant work in connection with several VCT mergers.
