Accountants on the fiddle?

No, but guitar, mandolin and vocals will be featured when Donald Forsyth and Gareth Magee of Scott-Moncrieff play at a concert on October 8 in Leith for LoveOliver, the charity that raises money to help fund research into children's cancers. Donald wanted a meaningful way to celebrate turning 50, so he not only organised the event but is playing in all 4 bands – everything from rock and reggae to bluegrass and Scottish folk/rock.

AWARD WINNING MUM TO LAUNCH BOOK AT EDINBURGH CHARITY CONCERT
Jennifer Gill (26), who set up the charity LoveOliver earlier this year to raise funds for research into childhood cancers, is to launch a book based around the short life of her baby son, Oliver, at a charity concert in Edinburgh on October 8th.

She was recently nominated for an AOL My Daily Amazing Women Awards and was in London on September 23rd to receive her award from Danni Minogue.

Oliver was born on July 10th 2010 with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer, and in his 24 weeks of life had a massive impact as he smiled his way through chemotherapy. Sadly, Oliver passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day 2010. His mum, Jennifer, and dad, Andy, wrote a blog during Oliver’s illness and this has now been turned into a book.

In addition to helping fund research into childhood cancers LoveOliver also aims to provide practical help to families on Ward 2 at the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh. The charity website is http://www.loveoliver.org.uk/
