We are delighted to announce that we are supporting Scottish Family Business Week, which is taking place from 2-6 October 2017.
Scottish Family Business Week is a key week in the Scottish Family Business calendar. Organised by Family Business United (FBU) Scotland, there will be numerous events and activities planned from 2 to 6 October 2017 in order to help raise the profile and contribution of family firms to the Scottish economy.
Key events during the week include the Family Business Dinner on Wednesday 4 October and the Scottish Family Business Conference in Glasgow on Thursday 5 October. Keynote speakers for the conference include Robert Graham (Managing Director of Graham’s Family Dairy), Paul Grant (Chairman of Mackays) and John Stevenson MP (Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Family Business).
Paul Andrews, Founder and Managing Director of FBU Scotland commented "This is a fantastic week that showcases the diversity and depth of the Scottish family business sector. Previous years have seen the coming together of years of family business experience, heritage and knowledge and a palpable willingness to share insights too. 2017 is going to be no different and we look forward to some great events and the support of our sponsors like Scott-Moncrieff is fantastic."
Stewart MacDonald, Managing Partner of Scott-Moncrieff added, “Many of our clients are family owned and private businesses so there is a natural fit with Scottish Family Business Week. We are delighted to be supporting this week-long campaign of events that will showcase the family business sector in Scotland, provide recognition for family firms throughout Scotland and provide a way to bring family businesses together to share their stories, network and learn from each other.”
As well as being key sponsors of the week, Marc Shenken, Partner at Scott-Moncrieff, will deliver a workshop on succession planning during the conference.
Other sponsors for the week include Turcan Connell, Craig Corporate and Close Brothers Asset Management.
