The Royal Society for Home Relief to Incurables, Edinburgh
The Society was founded in 1805 and constituted under the Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1903. Scottish Charity Number SCO04365
The Society aims to give assistance to persons (normally under retirement age at the time of application) who are no longer able to work on account of having an incurable illness. An allowance is given quarterly to assist in providing extra help. The Society however is not in a position to consider isolated requests to meet single emergencies - see application form for medical criteria.
Funds available
Currently £130,000 is available for distribution each year. Last year 224 persons received annuities amounting to £540 per annum each.
