Preparing thoroughly for an audit meant a smooth process and good result for our client.
We gained an understanding of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust prior to our appointment as their auditors. The client was impressed that we already had a grasp of the operation and management arrangements, from location of Trust premises to how the financial systems were operated by the host council on the Trust’s behalf. Although Companies House enforced a tight deadline for incorporation, the audit was carefully planned to achieve this timescale. Where possible information was collated before the site visit by the Audit Manager to allow for more dedicated testing time while the team were on site. Our audit also included a VAT consultation which involved a review of the current split between taxable and non-taxable income to ensure that VAT recovery was accurate.
