Personal Tax Assistant Manager (Maternity Cover)

We are currently recruiting a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to cover maternity leave ( 6 -7 months FTC). This job will be be on a part time basis with a 21 hour working week.

Main duties

  • Management and control of the Edinburgh personal tax compliance function
  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of service delivery.
  • Maintaining an overview of personal tax activity; anticipating problems, bottlenecks or resource constraints and taking action to see they are addressed.
  • Creating a productive team by providing guidance, encouragement and coaching where appropriate.
  • Facilitating good relationships with other internal service lines, primarily the firm's wealth management specialists.
  • Creating business development opportunities from within the personal tax client base.
  • Ability to develop good client relationships.

Skills required

  • Professionally qualified (ATT qualification essential, but ideally CTA qualified).
  • Experience in all aspects of technical personal tax work
  • Significant management experience which (ideally) would include experience in staff appraisal.
  • Experience in identifying business development opportunities.
