Audit Senior- FTC & Permanent Opportunities

We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior to join Scott-Moncrieff’s Commercial and Charity Audit team, based in our Edinburgh office.

This is a fixed term contract from January-August 2018.  You should ideally be CA or ACCA qualified. 

We also have a permanent Audit Senior position in the same team, based in our Edinburgh office.  

Main duties

  • To deliver quality work and service to clients of the firm, within the firms standards and within the budgets set.
  • To act as a project senior.
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with the firm’s standards and procedures, and that the work is within budget and to the expected timeframes.
  • Ensure the quality of all work produced (including the review of the work of others in the team) and to apply all relevant technical disclosures to client work during planning phase and to ensure all requirements are met (e.g. statutory filing deadlines etc).
  • Responsible for your own work and ensure that files are completed to the standard expected by managers.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritise work, to know when to communicate potential issues to the client manager, including providing regular progress updates to both the client manager and client on work being completed and to ensure that all time is accurately recorded and maintained on a daily basis.
  • Prepare accurate, timely and detailed management reports, letters of representation, fees and correspondence ready for issue to the client.
  • Assist with the preparation of tenders by gathering appropriate and accurate information.
  • Identify technical and business issues specific to a client, i.e. tax, fraud, risk related issues and suggest solutions to the client manager and partner.
  • Recommend additional services of the firm to the client manager and partner that the client would benefit from receiving.
  • Liaise with other teams on their involvement and progress with requests.
  • To develop and maintain positive client relationships using effective, appropriate and timely communication methods.
  • Brief employees on work required and check their understanding before allowing them to proceed, to delegate effectively and to supervise work appropriately.
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees via the ROAD performance management process and other ongoing appraisal processes as required.
  • Provide coaching, support and on-the-job training to team members.
  • Encourage junior members of the team to take responsibility for their own work.
