Since joining Scott-Moncrieff in 2011 I have gained significant experience in both internal and external audit, delivering audit and assurance services to health boards, local authorities, NDPBs, charities, and educational bodies. I currently work with a wide variety of public sector organisations, including a number of territorial and special health boards, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, North Lanarkshire Council, the University of Dundee and the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration. The variety is what I enjoy most about my job. I also particularly enjoy working with the health sector as I get to see the difference the NHS makes to the health and welfare of the people of Scotland. I believe that, as audit and assurance providers, we really add value to our clients within this sector.
My biggest achievement to date is leading on the national waiting times audit for our health board clients in 2012 and performing follow up audits with them in 2013. I am also currently leading a piece of work to help some of our health board clients establish robust waiting times monitoring processes, which was one of the recommendations set out by the Parliamentary Audit Committee in its report on NHS waiting times.
Prior to joining Scott-Moncrieff I worked for 18 months at a Scottish Government NDPB. I was involved in all aspects of its finance function, including preparing monthly management accounts and the statutory annual accounts. Throughout my time at University I also worked for Shetland Islands Council, providing administrative and financial support to the housing service.
